Glass care

Worth knowing

More brilliance for your glasses thanks to perfect cleaning.

  • Set the flushing temperature between 50°C and 55°C.
  • A maximum temperature of 65°C must not be exceeded. The flushing temperature must also not fall below 50°C.
  • Use short washing programmes. Longer programmes lasting several hours are not recommended.
  • Keep strainer inserts, nozzles and rinsing arms clean.
  • Do not put leftovers in the dishwasher.
  • Dried-on food residues require a higher detergent dosage.
  • Depending on the water quality, softening, partial or full demineralisation is recommended.
  • Open the machine immediately after the wash cycle to allow the steam to escape.
  • Use tea towels made of lint-free material. Optimal: Pure linen or microfibre.
  • Do not use the polishing cloth for any other purpose in order to avoid odour and grease residues.
  • Tea towels should generally be washed without adding starch or fabric softener.
  • For perfect cleaning, we recommend the polishing cloth from our company - please do not hesitate to contact us.
  • Make sure that no fingerprints remain on the glass when removing it from the machine.
  • Hold the jars by the stem or base plate when removing them.
  • Above all, polish thin-walled, mouth-blown glasses separately for glass goblet and base. This prevents breakage.
  • Never hold the glass by the base plate and polish the goblet. The pressure can cause the stem to break.
  • Hands must be absolutely clean. Ready-to-hand paper towels near the dishwasher encourage people to clean and dry their hands.
  • Never breathe on glasses or spray them with cleaning agents. Moisten lightly with water vapour.
  • Check the polishing results visually. To do this, hold the glass slightly against the light.
  • The brilliant clarity of the crystal glass brings out the colour of the wine to its best advantage.
  • In accordance with DIN 10511: Food hygiene - Commercial glasswashing with glasswashers.
  • Only wash glasses in a glasswasher that are labelled as "dishwasher-safe" or "dishwasher-safe".
  • Special glasswasher with recirculated detergent solution, fresh water rinse aid and rinse aid solution recommended.
  • The temperature in the cleaning tank must be at least 55°C for hygienic reasons.
  •  As the durability, service life and usability of a drinking glass is significantly influenced by the temperature, a maximum temperature of 65°C should not be exceeded (in accordance with DIN 10511, we recommend a detergent solution temperature of 60°C and a rinse aid solution temperature of 65°C). Glasses are very sensitive to temperature. Temperature jumps can shorten the service life of glasses.
  • A cleaning time of 90 seconds is recommended for a brilliant and hygienic wash result.
  • Depending on the water quality, softening, partial or full demineralisation is recommended.
  •  We recommend the use of plastic baskets or coated wire mesh baskets to hold the jars securely. Baskets with appropriate compartments and heights to match our jars are available.
  • Incorrect placement of the glasses in the glass racks or contact between glasses can cause scratches.
  • Open the dishwasher immediately at the end of the wash cycle. Do not leave glasses in the dishwasher overnight.
  • Do not dry or polish rinsed glasses manually in order not to jeopardise the (hygienic) cleaning success achieved by reintroducing germs and to avoid glass breakage and the risk of injury.
  • Keep the drying time of the residues as short as possible to limit the proliferation of germs and facilitate cleaning.
  • Avoid stacking drinking glasses in the cupboard, as this can lead to scratches and glass breakage, especially on the upper rim.
  • Allow the glasses to cool to room temperature before pouring cold drinks.

Safety instructions and general instructions for the use of drinking glasses

Safety instructions and general instructions for use for machine-made and handmade drinking glasses (stemware and tumblers)
These instructions are intended for adults who use drinking glasses for domestic use.

Safety instructions: Rinse items before (first) use.

General instructions for use: The drinking glasses are suitable for the consumption of cold and hot drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic, non-acidic). The recommended minimum and maximum temperature is between 8° and 25°C. Glasses are very sensitive to temperature and temperature jumps can shorten the life of glasses. Always allow glasses to cool down to room temperature before filling with cold drinks. The drinking glasses are not suitable for hot drinks and are not suitable for use in the oven, on the hob or in the microwave. Glass is fragile. Handle the drinking glasses with care to avoid breakage, cracks or splintering. Glass is subject to a normal ageing process. Excessive mechanical or thermal stress or temperature differences can lead to distortion and breakage. To prevent this or scratches, avoid direct contact with ceramic objects, metal or other glass objects. The glasses are not suitable for small children (up to and including 3 years). Keep away from children. We recommend that children only use the glasses under supervision. Due to the risk of injury and choking, the glasses are only suitable for drinking and not for playing with, biting into or inserting into body orifices or similar. Glass items labelled as decorative objects (vases, tea lights, etc.) are for decorative purposes only and are not suitable for use with food or as containers for drinks. If the glass is damaged (cracks, crazing, chipping), it may no longer be used. Do not use glasses in conjunction with metal cutlery (e.g. to spoon out food).

Cleaning and care: The drinking glasses are dishwasher safe. However, please note the following information. When placing the glasses in the dishwasher, please ensure that there is sufficient space between the glasses so that they do not touch each other or other objects. If possible, place the glasses in the top rack of the dishwasher so that they do not come into contact with the dishwasher arm. Set the wash temperature between 50°C and 55°C. A maximum temperature of 65°C must not be exceeded. For hygiene reasons, do not set the wash temperature below 50°C either. Use short wash programmes. Longer programmes lasting several hours are not recommended. Incorrect placement of glasses in the washing baskets or touching each other can cause scratches. Keep sieve inserts, nozzles and rinsing arms clean. Food residues do not belong in the dishwasher. Dried-on food residues require a higher detergent dosage. Depending on the water quality, softening, partial or full demineralisation is recommended. Open the machine immediately after the wash cycle to allow the steam to escape. Make sure that no fingerprints remain on the glass when removing it from the machine. When removing glasses, hold them by the stem or base plate. Above all, polish thin-walled, mouth-blown glasses separately for glass goblet and base. This prevents breakage. Never hold the glass by the base and polish the goblet. The pressure can cause the stem to break. Your hands must be absolutely clean. Paper towels within easy reach near the dishwasher encourage you to clean and dry your hands. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, scratching sponges or sharp objects for cleaning to avoid scratching the glass surface. Use tea towels made of lint-free material. Optimal: Pure linen or microfibre. Do not use the polishing cloth for any other purpose to avoid odour and grease residues. Tea towels should generally be washed without adding starch or fabric softener.

StorageStore the jars safely in a place where they cannot fall or be damaged. Do not stack jars. Store jars in a dry place at a constant temperature. Do not place jars on the rim, but store them with the opening facing upwards to ensure air circulation. If odours have formed, swirl the jar two to three times in your hand with the opening facing downwards ("shake out"). Do not leave filled jars in the sun for any length of time. Water dries up and can leave unsightly limescale marks on the inside of the glass surface. Keep sufficient distance between the items to avoid scratches and thus cracks or breakage. Disposal: Dispose of the drinking glasses in accordance with local regulations.

Safety instructions and general instructions for decanter dryer and polishing cloth

These instructions are intended for adults who use decanter dryers and polishing cloths for domestic use.

SSafety instructionsPlease rinse or wash before use.

General instructions for use: Use the decanter dryer to clean hard-to-reach areas of glassware (especially decanters and carafes). Insert the decanter dryer with the enclosed tube through the opening in the glassware. The tube can then be pulled out upwards over the stem and the decanter dryer is then located in the glass vessel. Take the handle between both palms and rotate the decanter dryer inside the glass jar by moving them against each other. Hold the vessel to be cleaned firmly during the cleaning process or place it in such a way that it cannot fall over or drop to avoid damage. Dry the outside of the jar with a soft, lint-free polishing cloth. Use the polishing cloth dry or slightly dampened to remove fingerprints, water marks and streaks. The polishing cloth is ideal for polishing delicate glass, crystal and stainless steel surfaces. Not a toy. Use only for its intended purpose.

Cleaning and care: Decanter dryer: After each use, leave the decanter dryer to dry in a well-ventilated area. Shake out thoroughly before the next use to remove any fluff from the cloth strips. Note: Not dishwasher safe. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Replace the decanter dryer when the cloth strips become worn. Polishing cloth: Wash the polishing cloth in the washing machine at a maximum of 40°C after use. Do not use fabric softener to maintain absorbency. Note: Do not tumble dry or iron to avoid damaging the fibres. Allow the polishing cloth to air dry.

StorageStore the items in a dry place.

Waste disposalDispose of the items in accordance with local regulations.

Safety instructions and general instructions for use for cleaning beads

These instructions are intended for adults who use cleaning pearls for domestic use.

Safety instructionsRisk of ingestion. Keep away from children.

General instructions for use: Prepare the container: Fill the vessel to be cleaned about halfway with warm water. Add the beads: Carefully add the cleaning pearls to the container. Optional: For more intensive cleaning, you can add a splash of mild washing-up liquid. Swirl: Hold the container firmly and swirl it in a circular motion so that the beads reach the inside walls. This removes dirt, deposits and limescale stains. Duration: Depending on the degree of soiling, we recommend swirling the container for around 1-2 minutes. After cleaning, carefully pour the cleaning pearls over a fine-meshed sieve to collect them. Rinse the beads thoroughly under running water to remove any residue. Allow the beads to dry completely before putting them back in the storage box. Only use the cleaning pearls in glass or metal containers. They could cause scratches in plastic containers. Make sure you hold the jar securely while swivelling it to prevent it from falling. Not suitable for vessels with very thin or delicate glass. Only to be used for cleaning decanters and carafes or similar. Not intended for any other use. Not suitable for small children (up to and including 3 years). Keep out of the reach of children. Not a toy.

Cleaning and care: No chemicals required: the cleaning beads clean themselves mechanically through movement. Do not use harsh cleaning agents as these could damage the beads.

Storage: Store the cleaning pearls in the tin provided or in a sealed container to protect them from loss.

Disposal: The cleaning beads are reusable and environmentally friendly. If damaged, dispose of the item in accordance with local regulations.
