Frequently asked questions about EISCH Germany, SENSISPLUS and our products
EISCH Germany embodies understated luxury and timeless elegance – a brand that tells a story with every glass. Shaped by generations of glassmaking expertise, deeply rooted in the Bavarian Forest, and a passion for turning moments into unforgettable experiences, EISCH has stood for the very highest standards of craftsmanship and innovation since 1946. The range comprises masterpieces of tableware: from ornate decanters and exquisite table accessories to the pioneering SENSISPLUS glasses. Many of these creations are meticulously handcrafted and finished with high-quality metals such as 24-carat gold, platinum, silver or copper in the workshops in the Bavarian Forest – an expression of pure sophistication that makes every piece a sensuous, one-of-a-kind item and guarantees exceptional enjoyment.
The EISCH glassworks was founded in 1946 as the ‘Valentin Eisch Finishing Workshop’ in Frauenau in the Bavarian Forest. However, the Eisch family’s roots in the glassmaking trade stretch back some 300 years. This expertise, honed over generations, continues to shape the development and manufacture of the products to this day. Since October 2025, EISCH – synonymous with luxury and elegance – has been enriching the brand portfolio of ZWIESEL FORTESSA AG, a world-leading company specialising in exclusive tableware with over 150 years of tradition.
EISCH offers an extensive range of high-quality glassware and home accessories. As well as glasses for wine, sparkling wine, spirits, beer and water, and coffee glasses, the range also includes carafes, decanters, vases, bowls, stormlights, napkin rings and other stylish accessories for the table and an elegant home décor.
EISCH products are available via the official EISCH online shop and from selected specialist retailers both in Germany and abroad. In the official online shop, you will find the full range, including the latest collections, new arrivals and exclusive ranges.
SENSISPLUS reveals the full diversity and depth of the flavours immediately and impressively, thereby elevating the enjoyment of wine to a previously unimagined level. The character and structure of the drink remain unchanged. SENSISPLUS builds on a glass that has already been optimised in terms of form – it is, therefore, the perfecting of glasses designed specifically for a particular drink. SENSISPLUS is a closely guarded EISCH trade secret.
In the company’s own finishing workshops, experienced glass artisans give the glasses their unmistakable EISCH character – through intricate finishes using colours, real gold, platinum, silver or copper. The unfinished glasses – that is, the raw glass – are produced in neighbouring Zwiesel or at selected European partner glassworks. The application of the company’s proprietary SENSISPLUS technology, which delivers an exceptional aromatic experience, is also carried out exclusively at EISCH in Frauenau.
The EISCH range comprises mainly hand-blown glassware, but also includes machine-made pieces. Hand-blown ranges such as UNITY SENSISPLUS and free-form decanters such as EMBRACE epitomise the highest standards of craftsmanship and individuality. The range is complemented by precision-manufactured machine-made ranges that meet the highest quality standards.
The finishing is carried out by experienced glass artisans at the EISCH glassworks in Frauenau. Colours and precious metals are applied by hand and then permanently bonded to the glass surface at around 560 °C. A protective coating, which is also applied by hand, ensures a high-quality, durable and exceptionally brilliant finish.
Hand-finished glassware should only be cleaned by hand. Use warm water, a mild washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Harsh cleaning products, glass cleaners or abrasive cleaners should be avoided, as should washing in the dishwasher. Vigorous polishing or mechanical stress on the finish can also damage the surface. As genuine precious metals are used in many products, slight variations in colour may occur. These are inherent to the material and highlight the uniqueness of each individual product.
With proper care, the finish will last for a long time. If the recommended care instructions are followed, the products will retain their original shine and high-quality appearance for many years.
Unfinished glasses from EISCH are generally dishwasher-safe. For hand-finished products, EISCH recommends hand washing only, in order to ensure the long-term protection of the precious metal finishes and decorative surfaces. Regardless of this, gentle hand washing extends the lifespan of high-quality glasses.
Yes. EISCH collaborates with renowned hotels, restaurants, wineries and luxury interior designers both at home and abroad. Our products are used worldwide in the upmarket catering and hospitality sectors, as well as in exclusive projects such as the fitting out of yachts and private residences. We would be happy to provide you with further information about our commercial solutions and client references.
The shape of a wine glass has a significant influence on the perception of a wine’s aroma, flavour and texture. That is why EISCH develops glass shapes specifically tailored to different grape varieties and wine styles. Thin-walled bowls, finely crafted rims and harmonious proportions allow the bouquet to unfold to its full potential. In selected series – and in most of our drinking glass ranges – the patented SENSISPLUS technology further enhances the tasting experience. Full-bodied red wines benefit from generous bowls with plenty of space for aromas to develop. Slightly slimmer glass shapes are ideal for white wines, as they emphasise freshness and fruitiness. Sparkling wines unfold particularly well in glasses with a effervescence Point , which promotes a fine and long-lasting effervescence. Those seeking a versatile solution will find at EISCH both grape-variety-specific wine glasses and universal all-round glasses for a wide variety of occasions.
